This existing Synagogue had many lives. Wars and conflicts damaged the shul but t was always rebuilt. Now with the name of the greatest sgae after the Churban of Bait Sheni, Rav Yochanan Zakai, who recreated Torah learning in Yavneh after the fall of Jerusalem.
